The Salvage of the U.S.S. Kaine

Ani pilots into orbit. Dagda, using the sensors, locates a city. Ani pilots to the surface and places the shuttle on lock-down. Dagda sets 1138 on non-lethal security protocols. Everyone arms up. Jovan and Jason tag along because they need another Med panel. Planetary official Loval asks the team some medical questions and places them in medical quarantine. Jovan and Jason clear up the situation and the team is free to go. They go to a diner across the street. Ani makes contact with her Shandama syndicate contact Brian. Dagda checks out Brian, working on nano-tech, and discovers that he works for the Novox Corp. Gov. Covington is on the Board of Directors. They buy a transport raft for 300 credits. As they speed along they see a clearing in the forrest. They see smoke up head. They find another route and set down next to the Novox Corp annex on this planet. Velgur, Jason, and Jovan head toward the R&D section looking for the nano-tech section. Brian enters and calls Covington. ANi contacts Covington later and finds out that they all have to goto Psidonia. Jovan and Jason ask Brian for a new Medical Motherboard. Dagda entangles William (mook). and makes him tell the truth. Dagda discovers a signal from the computer room. Dagda confronts Bob . Bob admits he has been in contact with Covington. Feeling betrayed they kick Bob off the ship. William in confined to the lounge. Ani plots a course for Psidonia and engages the jump-drive.

Here we go again!

Captain Ani Blaze checks the shuttle for clues to her current situation. She discovers that the shuttle’s controlls have been locked out by Dagda Mor for her safety. Dagda goes to engineering to check on the progress of the repairs that Velgur An is makeing. Dagda looks for Ani but she hides in the shuttle believing that Dagda is staging a coup. After a very strange conversation with Ani, Dagda goes to the Med bay to talk to Jovan and Jason Caldwell about Ani’s condition. He is told that she is stable for now but that can change at any momment. Just then Velgar notices the shields drop out and sees an amber security light. He attempts repair and succeeds. 1138 is asked to do a level three security scan outside the ship. The scan turns up a black hole at the extreme range of their sensors. While doing routine maintainence, Velgur notices the main reactor scramming to 110% of normal. All attempts at repair fail so Dagda orders the main reactor to be shut down completly. With all power down the gravitational pull of the black hole draws the U.S.S. Kaine closer and accelerating second by second. The Mech 1138 is ordered to assist Velgur in ships repairs. Ani is given temporary command again and she orders Dagda to use the shuttle to push the Kaine to safety. As he attempts to do so, the Kaine starts tumbling out of control towards the black hole. Dagda is ordered to get clear of the Kaine as Velgur and 1138 repair the main thrusters. Repairs complete, the Kaine is brought under control and Dagda redocks with the Kaine safely. However, the port sensors are now offline and the crew needs a backup panel from the Main Med Scanner Bed to replace it. Jovan and Jason, reluctantly, agree. Ani notices a yellow blip at the extreme edge of their sensor screen. It is Regional Governor Elizabeth Covington aboard the U.S.S. Victory closing on them. Velgur creates a power draining device that drains power from personal weapons. Covington’s shuttle docs with the Kaine. Covington exits the shuttle with Ani’s brother David, whom she thought dead along time ago. David has an explosive collar around his neck and Elizabeth is holding a deadmans switch. Velgur sneaks aboard Covington’s shuttle and hides a tracking device that has a limited range to inside a solar sysytem. While giving her brother David a hug, Ani slips him a dagger. Repair techs from the Victory board the Kaine and fix all issues with the Kaine. With all issues fixed the Kaine jumps to P14K29. Ani, suspicious of Covington’s motives says,“Here we go again!”

Book Two: A Penny for your thoughts!

The crew of the U.S.S. Kaine are taking some much needed shore leave on Hosbec, where they can rest and get supplies to repair the Kaine. While seated in the local bar, Brubek’s, they notice a heavyset patron who offers to buy Ani a drink. She accepts the “Dante’s Revenge” and downs it in one gulp. Ani doesn’t know the drink was laced with knockout chemicals and succumbs to their effects. Dagda Mor confronts John Bartholomew and carriers her outside the bar ushered by John. Dagda tries to steer them toward the local Constabulary but is waylaid by three thugs carrying Stun Batons in an alleyway. Dagda shoots one of the thugs. The wounded thug is carried off by the other. Their leader, Thomas Watson, capitulates and brings Dagda and Ani to his office down the street. Once there, Thomas offers to revive Ani. Dagda agrees and Ani is given a powerful stimulant. Ani notices a file folder on the desk and asks what it is all about. The file contains information about all the crew members of the Kaine. It also contains a mission briefing from Regional Governor Elizabeth Covington. The mission is to retrieve a Psiclops names Llofali (Penny) to negotiate between the Empire and The Verushi. The only lead the crew has is to travel to Psidonia, Llofali’s home world. Governor Covington gives each of them a sizable stipend and a promise of a reward upon the successful completion of the mission. The crew agrees to the terms knowing the their warrant has been lifted and they are once again under Letters of Marque and Reprisal from Covington. Once again aboard the U.S.S. Kaine at the common meal time Ani notices a temperature drop and sees what she thinks is a vapor cloud out of the corner of her eye. She asks Dagda And Velgur to investigate. They both turn up nothing so Ani drops it and gets a hot shower and some rest in her stateroom. No sooner than she shuts her eyes, she hears voices. She calls Dagda and her does a level three scan of the ship. He reports all is normal. After breakfast, Ani hears the voices again. Dagda, concerned for Ani’s sanity confines her to quarters but not before Ani confronts him about,“Taking over Her ship.” Ani calls Jason Caldwell who places her in the scanning chamber under restraints. Jason finds genetic anomalies in the scan but refuses to tell Ani. Jason tells Dagda, who has officially taken command, about a planet not far from Psidonia called P14K29. It has all the necessary materials to cure Ani’s affliction. Temporarily cleared by Jason, Ani calls her contact on Shandama for information on the Verushi. He tells her that the Verushi are working on psychic and genetic warfare. Ani asks him to meet her so he sends a set of coordinates and a time stamp. Ani also calls her friend Claudus on Rackash who cannot be reached just yet when…

Claudus has the cure that will allow him to rebuild the once proud and noble Rackashan race. But there is a price to be paid. The cure does eliminate the genophage from all Rackashans but drives human beings criminally insane. Because of this the entire Rackashan race is labeled as pariahs. To repay Ani’s kindness Claudus refines the cure and eliminated the insanity effect on humans, however no one else knows this.

A Blaze of Glory!

Ani and crew find all the equipment that they need to repair the USS Kaine in the warehouse. Velgur An directs the collection and cataloging efforts. Ani, Jollie, and their prisoner, Bob, travel back to the USS Kaine in the drop ship. Dagda and Velgur An travel back in the transport. Once there Velgur An and Jollie Brightstar begin installation and repair efforts, with the help of the spiderbots. The two cannisters in the hold show signs of life as the occupants are being slowly revived. Meanwhile on the other side of the planet we see the deck of the USS Victory and a shadowy figure as she checks the tracking screens for the USS Kaine. All supplies aboard the Kaine enters jumpspace for Rackasha avoiding the USS Victory in pursuit. The Rackashans need live food and nothing in the ships stores will do so a diversion to the nearest planet is made. Dagda takes the female Rackashans down to the jungle like planet to hunt for live food. Claudus refuses to leave Dr. Lynda Caldwell behind, so he stays on board the USS Kaine. The females hunt in the woods and bring back an offering to Claudus. Just as the drop ship is entering the hangar bay the USS Victory is detected in pursuit again. The USS Kaine once again enters jumpspace to evade them. Ani and crew become suspicious that they are being tracked so they investigate Bob and find a tracking device on him. Ani orders Velgur to modify it to give a false signal and it is jettisoned into space. The two bodies in the containers fully emerge from their stasis groggy and confused and unknown to the crew. Ani, checking on the status of the repairs, discovers Jovan and Jason Caldwell nude and covered in stasis gel. She orders them to be brought to the Med Bay to be treated and revived properly. After a while Ani interviews them and discovers that Jovan was sent by the Novox corporation to Rackasha as an ambassador/scientist to negotiate for the Graviton Crystals found only on Rackasha. Being refused they send Jason Caldwell with the Genophage unbeknownst to him. Jovan learns of this and codes Lynda’s DNA with the cure and he sends her to Rackasha.
Arriving at Rackasha the crew of the Kaine contact Claudus’ old partner Learah to obtain access to a lab to finish work on the cure. She agrees to meet but Ani is suspicious. Dagda takes a drop ship down and meets with her. Ani and crew take a transport with all the equipment that they need and the Rackashans also. The Rackashans are extremely week because of the extended voyage without food. They all find the lab and create the cure. Security forces attack. Bob saves the day by driving the transport into the security forces and rescuing the crew. The Rackashans vow to stay and rebuild their race now that they have the cure. Ani and crew leave to rejoin the USS Kaine.

A night on the town!

The party, with their hostage in tow, emerge from the sewer to a town meeting. Everyone is covered in slimy sewer filth and attracts the attention of the townies. Amidst claims of “sewer maintenance” they make their way past the meeting and toward the warehouse where Ani’s contact, Jollie Brightstar, is located. The font door is locked, so they go to the alley side door that is also locked. Ani notices a mark by the door the signifies that this is where her contact really is. Velgur An picks the lock and everyone enters. Dagda Mor notices a panel with a timer that is counting down. Velgur An disarms the security panel just in time, 007 seconds to go. The warehouse has an assortment of parts and supplies needed to repair the USS Kaine. Ani notices an office at the back of the warehouse. Jollie Brightstar is in there. Jollie agrees to help them get the supplies that they need. Jollie knows that her life is now in jeopardy also. Everyone agrees to find and steal a transport to take the supplies back to the USS Kaine. They leave on foot toward the warf side district. Dagda Mor notices overhead that patrols of birdmen are in a search pattern for them. They are able to use that pattern to evade detection by staying in the shadows. At the edge of the city they come to an expanse of open space between them and the transport that they need. Dagda Mor suggests hotwiring two transports. Velger An does so. One of the transports is used as a diversion as it explodes. This draws the attention of the birdmen security patrols. Our heroes make their way back to the warehouse using spare exploding power cells as diversions. Velgur An hacks the security system at the warehouse again. Dagda Mor enters first and notices shadows amongst the warehouse racks. They decide to fight. Four birdmen attack our party. Our heroes win a tough fight. They are free to get the supplies that they need to repair and resupply the USS Kaine.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star!

Dagda and Velgur work feverishly to repair the USS Kaine. Ani Blaze works on the USS Clark. Both ships, ready to travel to the Shandama Syndicate’s home world, leave the Eros Belt and make the jump into jumpspace. Just before they leave Neo York’s territory Elizabeth Covington hyperwaves Ani, who is aboard the USS Clark, to check on her progress. Regional Governor Covington learns that Ani and crew are about to leave her region. Governor Covington warns Ani not to leave or there will be dire consequences. Ani, determined to save the Rackashans and Dr. Lynda Caldwell, orders both ships to continue to Shandama. Once in Shandama’s space Velgur An repairs the cloaking devices on both ships. They are safe from detection at the moment, but the repairs are tenuous at best. Ani detects another asteroid field near Shandama. Due to some incredible flying both ships remain cloaked and hide inside the asteroid field. Velgur An gets the cloaking device working on the drop ship that the USS Kaine has in her hold. Ani, Dagda, and Velgur take the cloaked drop ship to the outskirts of the city. The Rakashans and 1138 remain on the USS Kaine safe from the detection of the syndicate. The Hellions, as Ani calls the group land near the docks. The docks are a very seedy and rough part of the city. They try to hail a passing cab but to no avail. Ani spots a hooker(Desahrae) across the street. Desahrae remembers Jollie Brightstar, Ani’s contact on the planet. Desahrae directs them to the center of the city. They start walking and come upon a train station. Willie, the bum, warns them not to travel in the last car. They all board the train. After a while Ani notices a person, who looks very familiar, staring at her. It is actually Elizabeth Covington in disguise(spoiler). Two thugs get into the same car as Ani and crew. One stays with Covington and the other one exits the car at the same time as Ani and crew. The thug Bob bullied by Ani leads them into a dark alley. He and three of his friends attack. Ani and crew manage to defeat them all but keep Bob alive for questioning. He tells them that he is working for Elizabeth Covington and is coerced into leading them to Ani’s contact here on the planet. The only safe way to do that is the sewer system. Everyone descends safely and makes their way to the center of town. Covered in disgusting slime they surface near a crowd on a busy street when…

There's no place like home!

Dagda and Velgur call Ani back to the USS Kaine using their wrist comps. She returns having lost her attackers in the asteroid field. She docks the USS Clark and makes her way to Med Bay. Ani has concerns about Lynda’s willingness to be a voluntary participant in Claudus’ genetic experiment that is changing her genetic code to help save the Rackashan race. Dagda hacks into the computer system and finds Lynda Caldwell’s logs that state she is doing so of her own free will. Ani orders Dagda and 1138 to fix the weapons systems and they do so just in time. A group of 6 pirates attack and Ani goes over to the USS Clark to fend them off. She,Dagda, and 1138 destroy all but one of the pirates, who escapes back to their hidden base(spoiler). Dagda and Velgur work on the computers to get access to higher security levels. They get green and yellow level access, but red remains elusive. Everyone but Claudus’ wives and 1138 go to the captains stateroom/yacht to discuss the plight of the Rackashan race. Claudus tells them that he is a renegade scientist on his home-world and that going back there means death for him and his party. Our heros agree to take the Rackashans to the home-world of the Shandama Syndicate to meet a contact of Ani’s and find them a new world to settle. Not able to take both ships because Dr. Lynda Caldwell is in stasis and only halfway through the transformation process they ready the USS Kaine to make the perilous journey…

Book One: Into the asteroid field!

The crew of the USS Clark have been tasked with Letters of Marque and Reprisal by Governor Elizabeth Covington to make a profit and eradicate the local pirate population.
Responding to a distress signal, the USS Clark finds the USS Kaine inside a dense asteroid field. Upon approach, they are attacked by a wing of 5 pirate fighter ships. Having destroyed them all, Captain Ani Blaze sends Dagda Mor and Velgur An aboard the USS Kaine to investigate. Meanwhile, more pirate fighter ships arrive and drive Ani away from the USS Kaine. In an effort to save her ship and crew she leads the fighters away. The USS Clark moves deeper into the asteroid field.
Dagda and Velgur enter via a hatch in the cargo bay. The ship has obviously been attacked and is severely damaged. They make it safely through the the hatch of the Engine Room. Velgur uses his wrist comp to open the hatch. Upon entering, they are attacked by 5 spiderbots. Victorious, they leave the Engine Room and go exploring. They notice two large containers with what look to be bodies. Moving on to the main hallway, They come to the Medical Bay but it is blocked by a very tough web so they decide to move on. They next discover the crews quarters/rec room. Velgur finds an unusual knife. It is a nano-knife capable of injecting nanobots into the bloodstream which can rewrite DNA strands. Next they move to the Computer Room. All the security codes have been rewritten. They move onto the Bridge. Higher level security codes protect it. They find the hatch that leads to the Captains private yacht/stateroom. Velgur finds the radio room with state of the art connections to the hyperlink. They next go to the Maintenance Bay where they find the main spiderbot that controls all the spider bots throughout the ship. It has security lockouts that prevent our heroes from interfacing with it. Dagda awakens 1138, a repair mech. He approaches in a non-threatening way. Since security has been set to non-lethal the mech does not immediately attack. Velgur manages to get it to help them. Dagda confiscates the laser rifle that 1138 carries. They leave the Maintenance Bay and go back to the Web. After a few shots with the laser rifle and 1138’s huge wrench they gain entrance only to discover that it is being guarded by 3 Rackashan females. The wives of Claudus, a genius level bio-engineer. He is rewriting the DNA coding of Dr. Lynda Caldwell(spoiler). Dagda talks to Claudus and defuses the situation. Cladus explains that he has to do this to save his race the Rackashans, which is becoming extinct. Velgur and Dagda offer to help Claudus and he agrees. When…

Welcome to your Adventure Log!
A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.
